London Day 4 – NYE
Last of the London blog posts, thank god feels as though i’ve been talking about London for years now
Being our last day in London we wanted to try and do as much as possible, but did that happen? No.
Not really knowing what to do we walked around Westminster and then decided to go to Tower Hall. Got on the tube and we were there for 11am. Bought our tickets at the desk and the woman informed us that there was a 1 and a half hour wait for the Crown Jewels but we said that’s fine because we don’t plan on going there anyway. *keep this mind*
The weather was absolute rubbish, it was cold and rainy and not really the type of weather you want to be outside in and you could tell on mine and my brother’s face how much we wanted to be there.
Also we were still quite depressed at the fact that we hadn’t eaten Wingstop yet.
During the tour, we were stood at the top and saw the line for Crown Jewels and my brother said, I would hate to be them right now and I just thought why would you put yourself through that?
The tour finished no we came out near the Crown Jewels entrance and all of sudden we just stopped, turned around and Mina, Mayya and my aunty had joined the queue for it.
Haha we waited in the cold rainy weather for an hour, probably more, for quite frankly not much. Oh and that meant we hadn’t eaten since breakfast which was at 9:15am and it was 2:30pm. Ended up spending around 4 hours there.
P.S: If you ever visit London, it’s fine if you skip Tower Hall
We had been recommended this diner called Big Moe’s and we were starving so that was the next stop.
Imagine the diner in Grease the movie but in London because that’s what it was, so cute.
The decor, the music screamed 50’s so we had big hopes for the food too and Big Moe’s definitely did not let us down
I N C O M I N G…
The most extended lunch in the history of time so this was devoured within minutes. It tasted just as good as it looked and I was happy once again.
Had a little wander around and the settings just got nicer.
Kinda wish I had worn my black jeans so I could have matched the floor.
After that we headed back to the hotel to rest up before going out again for the fireworks. Spent longer in the hotel than we anticipated because we ended up watching Harry Potter but it’s all good because who doesn’t love Harry Potter.
We hadn’t bought tickets to be right near the London eye because this was a very spontaneous trip, so Mayya googled where we could stand and still have a semi decent view of the fireworks and it said Southwark bridge was a good spot.
Quick outfit change and off we went to Southwark Bridge.
Got a good spot (or so we thought) and we had 20 mins to go till 12am. It was 12 on the dot and waited for the sky to be illuminated with the fireworks but this is what we saw instead…
But I got a good picture from a firework that Nando’s did so I guess that counts, Right?
